Feeling.

The Power 4 has a more compact and parallel outline for improved early planning and maneuverability. Overall, a narrower outline combined with a V-bottom shape provides the perfect combination of speed and comfort. The surf-inspired rocker and wider diamond tail block mean you can send spray on the smallest, weakest of waves.

Construction.

A holistically reimagined construction process, consisting of a unique blend of Biaxial, Uni-Directional, and Plain Weave into our proprietary Carbon Monocoque – connecting masttrack and stance to rails and bottom, forming a cohesive whole – as well as a full S-Glass hull, enables us to now craft boards identical to our custom boards built on Maui. A tailored Hyper Skin High Density Full Sandwich layout creates the ultimate strength-to-weight ratio. S-Glass rail bands provide ideal torsional strength, without adding weight or stiffness.

Description.

This 4th generation Power has inboard and outboard stance positions for different conditions and skill levels.

It’s more compact with a slightly wider tail block, tweaked rocker, and volume distribution, and more supportive than ever. But don’t let this mislead you. It’s a thoroughbred Quatro board and carries over traits from its more radical siblings to lay turns and send spray flying when the waves do pick up.

Speed.

The most drivey board within the Quatro range due to the wider tail block and more parallel outline of the Power 4. A True Wave Board for Heavyweight Riders.

Shape.

Wave Outline, Free Race Rocker, Freeride Comfort. More compact with a slightly wider tail block, tweaked rocker and volume distribution, more supportive than ever.

Applies to Stock Model.

Agility.

Fins and foot straps are further back making the Power 4 super agile. Waveboard inspired geometry.

Highlights

Function and form.

Bottom

Double concave runs within the V blending out towards the tail. Overall V throughout the board to cut through the chop and ease of planing and great turning ability.

Rocker

A free race-inspired rocker for control and comfort with surf-inspired tweaks for wave performance.

Outline

More compact and more parallel.

Rails

Overall less taper to carry more speed through in lesser conditions. A sharper edge further forward creates better water release for early planing and top speed.

Nose

A more sleek and aerodynamic nose for minimum drag, slightly wider than the wave boards.

Tail

Wide shallow Diamond tail offers the best combination of reduced rail length for maneuverability and increase width for early planing.

Pads.

Dual Density Pads, redesigned from the ground up, provide better grip and comfort. A new layout and optimized dual density blend means you have the right support and cushioning where you need it whilst saving weight and minimizing drag. The new patterns are angled in just the right direction to give you maximum grip and connection to the board.

Applies to Stock Model.

Fins.

The Power 4 is the first of its kind to come without compromise on fin position and footstrap position.

In previous generations, like on any board with a Powerbox and its inherent screw hole, we had to compromise on the fin position in relation to the foot strap position. In this traditional format, the center fin would be set too far back. For this new generation, compromise was no longer an option for us, and we desired all inserts in the exact and optimal position determined during testing. The solution was to change the design of the fin itself. Together with MFC we have succeeded in positioning the fin forward on its base. Resulting in the perfect fin position and footstrap position.

Another step in re-imagining and leaving no stone unturned in the development and design of our boards.

Quatro Power 104 – A True Wave Board for Heavyweight Riders

I mostly sail the Dorset south coast in cross-onshore or cross-shore mush. At 106 kg I went for the Goya Custom 4 in 114L. On clean, period driven waves it is excellent, smooth and controlled, but day to day I have to push hard, use big sails and long runs to stay upwind, and it feels bulky in the air. Even after dropping to 96 kg I still catch fewer waves than the lighter, or maybe just more skilled, guys.

Freewaves never clicked for me, the rails always felt like they bounced off the wave. Then I tried the Quatro Power 104. I had two sessions, one in marginal cross-onshore and one in high wind cross-shore with solid logo high sets at Southbourne, and the difference was clear. The wide tail block made it release early, I could plane quickly, hit the waves at speed, stay upwind easily, and spend more time actually riding. In the air it felt light and controllable, and on the wave face it tracked like a proper wave board with solid drive.

The Goya will still come out on those rarer bigger and cleaner days when it is at its best, but for my typical conditions the Quatro Power 104 is the right match for my size, conditions and style. I always liked the idea of sailing a full wave board like the pros, but I had to be honest with myself. I do not get Maui conditions, and I needed a board that works for me here. The Quatro Power 104 could be branded as a true wave board for heavyweight riders. It gave me the confidence I was missing, so I put a deposit down straight away. Thanks also to Andy Chambers from Goya and fellow heavyweight Phil Anson who both helped steer me to this realisation. I hope this review helps other heavier riders make the right call and find the board that lets them spend more time on the wave.

Response: Aloha Nick, thank you so much for sharing your experience and stoke on our Power4 and that you are in contact with Andy and Phil.

Your quote is so good that it was added to our board description.

I just bought the Power 4 in 94 and I'm very excited to try it for the first time. I'm just thinking about the right footstrap position. I'm 187cm tall and 84 kilo heavy. I wanne use the board in B&J and small waves, but also in high wind flat water. What inserts do you recomend for three footstraps set-up? Thanks and best regards Sascha

Response: Aloha Sascha, it\'s great to hear from you and stoked to hear about your new Power4. I suggest you start by setting the back strap back and the front strap in the second position from the front. Mast foot middle to back. Please let us know if you have any other questions or if there is anything that we can help you with. All the best wishes! Quatro Team.

I have the 2023 Power 85 for sailing at the Columbia River gorge. Been working great with 3.4 to 4.5 sails. I would like to be able to crank a fast pivot turn. I have the Goya Custom 3 in a 95 with a swallowtail and it can really pivot turn. Is this more a function of the different tail shapes? Any tips to get a pivot turn out of the power?

Response: Aloha Kevin,
Mahalo for reaching out—it’s awesome to hear you’re enjoying pushing the limits! The tail shape does indeed change the feel: squash, swallow, or round pin each bring a unique feel and turn, largely due to their area and outline curves. The tail is the final piece you tune to balance the board’s design, so if you’re after more lift, go with a squash; for extra control, a swallow works well. This ties in with the whole board—back strap placement, outlines, bottom rockers, tail release, rails edge, and volume flow all play a role. For tight jibes, I’ve found positioning the back foot just behind the back strap, regardless of the board, really helps nail that sweet spot. Feel free to ask any other questions—we will be happy to chat!
All the best,
Quatro Team

I\'ve just purchased a Power 105 and I tried it yesterday for the first time. I sailed with 5.3 and at the beginning of the session there was not a lot o wind but I felt the board starts planning very early (I would say earlier then my previous board if this volume, a goya custom T). It gybes smoothly too. The only little downside is that perhaps It slows down in tight turns (too soon for judging this, though). I mounted the custom fin (center 23cm) with the side fins. As I intend to sail with 5.8 and maybe 6.4 too, what fin configuration would you recommend? Maybe keep the 23 cm fin for the 5.8 and 25cm without the side fins for the 6.4? And for 4.7 and 4.2, is worth a 21cm central fin? Let me know your thoughts. Thank you very much in advance and congratulations for this shape

Fernando

Response: Aloha Fernando,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are stoked to hear you are enjoying your new board.

Could you please share where you set your straps (counting holes from the tail) on both front and back inserts? Also, please share where you put your mast foot, your height, and your weight.

For the fin configuration, start as small as possible, which is the fastest and most reactive. Then, you can add side fins or increase the center fin size if needed. This will depend on your conditions, such as onshore currents, gusty winds, and your rig. If the rig has more backhand, you will need more fin area to support it.

And to your question regarding a 21cm fin, yes, this could open up the board for you on the stronger wind days or tighter turns on waves.

Looking forward to hearing back from you,

Francisco

I can see through the years the volume and width of the boards are increasing, with more range of use.I have a lot of experience in slalom board and have a 84 liters wave board. Now I was wondering to have the Power 4 104l that seems a good choice for my playground here in south of France Carro.I weight between 85 to 90 kilos. Sometimes I.cannot used my 84 as the wind is not enough and difficult to use a slalom board 90 liters cos it’s very choppy with small waves and not so fun.So I was wondering if the power can filled this gap and more I would like to used it with 4.7 up ton5.6 what.s your feeling about it? Or should I go to 94 or may be a pure wave board?

Alex

Response: Aloha Alex, thank you for reaching out and for considering our gear. Since you already have the 84, I would go for the 104. This would give you more options and allow you to ride a smaller sail, which always feels better. Please let me know if you have any other questions. All the best winds, Francisco

Hello Keith and Francisco, I have recently bought a Quatro Power 4, 94. I am super happy with this board. I must confess that it was difficult to choose between this board and the ONE (I’m still thinking about but maybe in 115) the one is really a superboard, I felt it incredibly comfortable and efficient when I had the pleasure to test it last summer at the same time I felt that the POWER would push me to challenge myself not staying in my comfort zone. Thank you so much for making such incredible boards. When I use my 5.8 sail with the power 94 I feel that I need a bigger fin because it’s difficult to get on planning and to go upwind I don’t know if I should buy a 23 or 25, what do you think? my weight is 90kg and 5.8 is the bigger sail that I will use on this board. thank you for your answer.

Response: Aloha Hedi, thank you for reaching out and for your stroke on our gear. The 23 should be sufficient if you ride it with the side fins. If you consider riding it as a single fin with a 5.8 / current, I would probably go for the 25cm.

Hi, the new Power 4 is just a fantastic board! I’ve got the 94 liter (I’m ~83 kg) and it planes super early and is great for airs - also off the lip. I’ve got the new Pyramid 6 as well and for the smaller days the Power goes for both onshore and sideshore conditions. Need to push a bit on the back foot and the turning arch is tightened and it behaves like a proper wave board. I’m using a slightly shorter fin for the down the line days (19 cm). It is super fast as well.

As a supplement to the Pyramide 6 I have now more fun days on the water.

Just buy it!

Thanks, T

Response: Thank you T for your trust in our boards and taking the time to share your feedback. All the best winds and waves!

Dear Keith and Francisco,
I have the 2022-23 Power Pro at 94lts. I am 75kgs sailing most in b-n-j and onshore small waves.
I really enjoy my 94lts (it is my favorite board) for 4.7-5.7m sail range.
I was thinking to buy a smaller Power at around 84-86lts as my higher wind - small onshore wave board. Sail range 4.2-4.7m.
How the new Power 84lt would ride compared to the 86lt previous model?
I am not a very experienced wave sailor; I am trying to progress on the basic front-style wave riding and jumping.
All the best from Greece!
George

Response: Aloha Petroutsos,

Thank you for your trust and stoke on our gear.

The two options that you provide have their benefit; the previous version is a great shape and durable construction that will give you a lot more control over your lighter wind Power, of course with a lower pricing, and the new version, with all those benefits along being almost 1kg lighter. So both are great options that you can’t make a mistake. It is really a matter of budgets. Please let me know if I can help you with anything. Wishing you a great week and season ahead, Francisco

I have tried 105 in chop condition with 5,7 and 5,0 overpower (I am 94kg) and I have a lot of fun: easy to power jibe, super confort and easy to jump. Now there is power 4 104 that is narrow (has the same measure 230x62 of my rrd fsw 96 v4). Which are the differences between the two boards (power3 vs power4)? Can I find the same sensation of confort, easy and upwind performance? Maybe better in high wind range?.thanks

Response: Aloha Filippo, thank you for all of your stoked on our gear. Yes, the new boards are slightly narrower in the middle and a bit wider at the tail, with the rider positioned closer to the tail. These changes have made it easier for the board to trim upwind and, as you said, offer more range in light and strong winds. Please don\'t hesitate to ask if there is anything else we can help you with.

I have recently received the Power 4 104litre to replace my 2017 99 Tetra.
The difference is marked. The Power is very light in weight even with fins and straps, and that weight is very evenly distributed. I wasn’t sure how or if that would affect the sailing feel but it really does in a very positive way. There seems to be volume under your feet all over the board, so it is very stable at lower speeds which gives confidence in transitions. It carries speed very well giving the rider just that bit more time. I’m a big guy, 92 kilos, and appreciate the early planning that the power gives you. The foot pads are a big upgrade, the board is so comfortable to sail. I’m guessing that the bottom shape contributes to this too making it easier through the chop. I’ve sailed it with 6.0 and 5.3 so far and it’s very well matched to the Banzai pro max carbon. Im looking forward to using it in proper waves, our south coast UK conditions, mushy onshore, is all I’ve had the opportunity to try it in so far.
Before buying the kit which I pay for at full price, I spoke with Andy Bubble Chambers. He was so helpful to me. He was candid in our discussions and gave me his expert opinion/feedback on both board and sails. He was spot on in his assessment, and despite buying without being able to try I have no regrets. In fact I have just placed an order for the Power 84!

Hi I’ve got the power 95, I’m struggling with optimum mast foot position and was hoping to get some advice. I’m 6ft and weigh 95kg. I sail mostly with 5.3 and 4.7 on this board. It’s a great board and I’m in love with it

Response: Aloha Greg, thank you for your stoke on our gear. What sail sizes are you riding it with? I place the mast foot as far back as I can before getting off balance and sinking the tail too much when floating around. You want to be in balance and at the same time be as far back as possible so that you can access the tail in the more critical sections. Please let us know if you have any other questions. All the best winds! Francisco

I weigh around 85 kg and I've been using Quatro Power 105 as my light wind wave/bump and jump board for over a year in various conditions (from 5.7 barely planning to full power 4.2 weather).

This board turned out to be exactly what I was looking for - it planes and goes upwind like an FSW, but it turns on a wave like a proper wave board (really well for a board of this size). My wave-riding skills progressed so much because of it - I can easily position myself in the correct place on a wave and go back out after riding it in conditions where I would struggle and waste a lot of energy on a smaller waveboard. It is super forgiving and keeps speed on the bottom turns well, so it allows you to think about technique instead of fighting the board.

It also goes through chop so well, that even when conditions do pick up (say full power 4.7/4.2 weather) you still feel comfortable and in control - the board doesn't feel too big at all.

I haven't spent as much time on Goya One 105, but I did try it a few times in a rental, so I think I can compare them. I felt that Goya planes a bit earlier and it is easier to make a planning jibe with it (it keeps speed during jibes so well), but it felt stiffer than Quatro Power on a wave to me. Both are amazing boards. I would probably pick Goya for flat water/bump and jump without a breaking wave, but Quatro definitely takes the upper hand in proper waves.

Hi. I would like to substitute my Goya One 95 2014. Is the Power 94 a good alternative or a should go for 105? What about One 95? I am 702 kg and I use it on flat water at the lake (sails from 4.5 to 5.7) or at seaside with low wind. Thanks: Ciao!

Hi guys,
I am interest to buy another Goja Board to plan earlier with light wind in choppy condition.
In 2022 I have already bought a One 95 and a Quatro Power 115 and are fantastics.
I am an intermediate Windsurfer which board do you suggest?

Dario

Aloha Dario,

Thank you for reaching over and stoke on our boards.

Could you please tell me a bit more about you and your plans?

Would this new board be replacing one of your other ones?

What are the conditions that you are looking at using this new board with, and what size/model sails you will be pairing it with.

If you have some images please send them over too.

All the best!

Hi
I want know how i can boost m’y power 86 in wave cause with power box fin ors difficult
Thanks

Hinault

Aloha Hinault,

Thank you for reaching over and for your trust in our gear.

I suggest positioning your back strap back, placing your mast track as far back as possible without losing the planning balance of your board, and down-hauling your sail to the recommended setting. All this would make your gear more maneuverable and snappier around the turns.

If the above is not enough, you can continue downsizing the center fin 1 or even 2cms if your weight is under 75kg.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything that we can help you with.

Happy New Year!

Francisco

Hiya. Had my new board for a few months now and wanted to say a huge thanks! It\'s made my gybes go from 50/50 to near 100% success, the board just loves to be thrown into the gybe yet I can adjust the arc without any hassle. I sail South Coast UK, so it\'s mainly onshore & side shore with treacherous shore break (think Kitmoller!). As soon as I see waves I grab the Power Pro. Love it!
