Sponsored gear. Current preference my Quatro Custom wave board, Goya Quad 8 Pro Carbon 68 for high wind jumping, The current Pyramid 70 is pretty darn amazing if I didn’t have my custom I would 100% ride this. The Goya Banzai Surf range in a mix of carbon and standard construction just to mix it up and just to annoy Lalo the 100% mast!!
What makes your ride? Why would you not, it’s what makes the world go around… well other than cheese, chocolate and yoga those are pretty good as well.
What is your most memorable session? OMG this is unfair….hmmmmm soooo many, that must mean Im old…..ok I will narrow down to a few:

Always Cabo Verde sessions just for beautiful waves from massive Ali Baba walls, Scary Curral Joel bombs and of course dreamy Ponta Preta days.

La Reunion for best adventure and culture mix plus scariest swim in with broken mast from a firing Etang Sale….I swear the Jaws music was playing on speaker. Obviously Maui; Peahi sessions just because of the pure adrenaline rush, concentration and determination just to even catch one of those waves. But surprisingly on Maui my favorite wave is Norrieagas on a big swell, in the memory banks I have a very memorable almost double over mast Thanks Giving session with Russ Farout, but then again S turns when it turns on, we had one EPIC light wind session I recount, oh and lest I forget La Perouse if you can catch a session there its dreamy (almost Cabo Verde style). Then there is Topocalma in Chile…..reeling Port tack walls and the local crew is just so awesome and fun to sail with. More recently I was hunting secret sessions up in the Pacific Northwest and found a sweet gem tucked away in Tofino on Vancouver Island Canada, needs a good storm to catch it but hands down it wins for scenery and wildness. Finally Gold Beach Jetty on the Oregon coast holds some fond memories for me again mostly because of the Oregon Coast crew that made those sessions memorable.

What’s your magic gear and when did you realize it? Whatever the latest that the Goya and Quatro design team have dreamt up is always the magic gear!!
Dream Trip. On it right now driving from Alaska to the the tip of Patagonia searching for wind and waves along the way…….I will have to think of a new dream trip once I am done!
